What's new in Ember Noise

Notes for journalists and External TestFlight testers. The Apple apps are in release testing. Public downloads and store listings are still pending. This page covers the current 1.0.0 TestFlight and a short note on earlier External builds.

Updated September 17, 2026.

1.0.0 TestFlight

Current External cut and upcoming store candidate. The first public push is a Mac soft launch. The same TestFlight family includes iPhone and iPad builds.

Hold a corner sound label on iPhone or iPad to open that corner's sound picker. On Mac, right-click or click and hold the label. EQ stays on the picker's Shape control. A hold on the label no longer opens EQ.

A pack link such as https://embernoise.com/open/pack/sample opens Ember Noise when the app is installed and imports the package. If the app stays closed, that page offers the .ember download. See Install an Ember pack.

The Mac command-line install steps live on the command-line page rather than on in-app copy buttons. Everyday mixing still uses the window and the menu bar. Agents and advanced users can put the bundled embernoise helper on PATH and run embernoise guide.

The current user guide also covers Report a Problem with optional screenshots, the Mac menu-bar companion, and the rest of the mixer, library, presets, automation, timers, and Send to Device.

Earlier TestFlight builds

External testers on 1.0.0 builds 4 and 5 already had the four-corner mixer, 24 built-in sounds, imports, EQ, presets, automation, stop timers, Send to Device, and in-app lessons. Packs arrived as a downloaded .ember file. Corner labels did not open the picker on hold or right-click. Command-line install copy still lived in the Mac app.
