The honest summary: Ember Noise collects no data about you. The longer version below exists so you don't have to take that on faith.
The app
- No account. There is nothing to sign up for, so there is no identity to store.
- No analytics or tracking. The app contains no analytics SDKs and sends no usage data, to us or to anyone else.
- No server. Ember Noise has no backend. Playback, presets, imports, and EQ settings all live on your device.
- Offline by design. Every built-in sound ships with the app; nothing streams from the internet.
Send to Device
Send to Device moves presets between your own devices over your local network. Discovery uses Bonjour; devices you pair exchange identities that are held in the system Keychain; transfers are end-to-end encrypted using authenticated HPKE. Nothing is uploaded to a cloud service, and the feature only runs while you have it open — the app asks for the system's Local Network permission at that moment, not at install.
Problem reports
If something breaks, Report a Problem composes a diagnostic report on your device. Sending it is your action, and you can read what it contains first. Nothing is reported automatically.
This website
embernoise.com is a static site. It sets no cookies and runs no tracking scripts. After launch we may use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a cookieless, privacy-preserving counter that shows page totals without identifying or profiling visitors; if a consent banner would have been required, we would not have used it.
